Ohio Historical Marker Ohio Erie Canal and Lancaster Lateral Junction Carroll, Ohio was a state-owned dry dock used for state boats in early canal days. It was at the intersection of the Ohio-Erie Canal and the Lancaster Lateral Canal and had many bars which attracted some shady characters.
